Creative Team Solutions Session

 

The main goal of this session was to promote teamwork, collaboration, communication skills, and the development of creative team activities!

The session began with an energizer, which was the “Categorize Me” activity. In this activity, each group (4 to 6 people) was given a list of 22 objects that had no apparent connection to one another, and they were asked to sort them into 4 categories that made sense to them. At the end, they presented their categories, the items included, and the process they followed to sort them that way to the class.

 

Afterward, they participated in the “Who Am I?” activity, in which each young person had a Post-it note on their back featuring a movie character and had to figure out who they were by asking questions of the others. At the end, once everyone had guessed their character, they had to find the characters that belonged to their category or movie in order to form groups for the next activity!

 

The last hands-on activity of the day was the “AtivaMente Jovem Tower”—the groups formed earlier had to compete against each other to build a tower that could stand on its own, which would be evaluated based on the following criteria: Aesthetics, Strength, and Height. To build the tower, they were given various materials, such as spaghetti, 1 marshmallow, rope, and tape. At the end, there was a reflection session on how the exercise went (challenges, strategies, communication, final result) and how teamwork was handled during this activity and the other activities throughout the day.

 

Finally, each participant was given a personal envelope, which they could customize however they wanted. This envelope would be used to keep their personal reflections throughout the sessions!
