Volunteering and workshops
6 youngsters were able to experience and have contact with the various forms and areas of Volunteering, in the municipality of Cascais.
In addition, they had the opportunity to make new friends, have lots of work and leisure time, guitar evenings, a cooking night, among other fun activities.
Time Out
Camping and activities
Time Out 2019 took place at Pedra Amarela Campo Base, in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of November, where, in a mystical environment that only the mountains can provide, a group of "arrotantes" came together to overcome challenges together, awaken their creativity, spend moments of fun and socializing with games and music, contribute to the conservation of nature and even had the opportunity to do adventure activities!

Birthday party 2019
An evening full of socializing and good humor, with old and new members as well as some partners. We had musical moments and a great quiz with the key moments of these 27 years, to test the knowledge of our members.
InterCONECTA
Workshop
InterCONECTA gave 12 young people, aged between 15 and 25, the opportunity to step out of their comfort zone, acquiring tools for self-knowledge, but also for establishing interpersonal relationships in their daily lives. The activities were based on non-formal education methodologies, such as journaling and the Emotional Mirror.
The workshop allowed the creation of a space for dialogue, where the recognition and identification of emotions were essential, and the awareness of all participants on the importance of mental health.

Workshop on the use of Improvisational Theatre and Theatre of the Oppressed techniques when it comes to social inclusion and how these techniques can help us understand the world around us in a different way!

This workshop emerged as a dissemination activity at the international course "ImproAction 3.0", organized in Berlin by the Abenteuerzentrum im Grunewald .
European Union Volunteer for Inclusion
Started by Associação Dominou from Romania, reunited 28 yougsters (from Spain, Greece, Turkey, Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria, Romana, Netherlands, Croatia, France, Denmark, and Estonia) who actively work with disadvantaged youth. From 10th to 16th of July (2019), they participated in a seminar in Craiova with various activities aimed at facilitating cooperation and partnership.

A mudança começa hoje
Workshop
On July 1, 2019, we had the presence of the Movimento Claro, a movement that aims to make the ocean clearer by reducing the use of disposable plastic, raising public awareness of the problem of plastic pollution in the oceans.
Teresa, from Movimento Claro, gave a free workshop on this topic here at Rota Jovem, which was attended by our volunteers from the international volunteering project Mediterranean Bonds (a project linked to this area of environmental awareness), who are almost ready to set off on their adventures!
Biblioteca viva

The "biblioteca viva" is an activity that aims to raise public awareness about various issues related to human rights and also break down prejudices about different situations.
Our books told the stories of Zé Maria - and how a traffic accident changed his life forever, of João - representative of the In-Mouraria Association who lives with two illnesses: HIV and drug addiction, and of Leonor - representative of the Rede Ex Aequo association that works with young lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans, intersex people and their supporters.

Espelho emocional
At the beginning of March 2019, Spring made its appearance with the heat arrived and with it, Bruno and Joana did their 1st workshop - Emotional Mirror!
It was a challenging activity that took both participants and the young people leading the workshop out of their comfort zone - successfully!
An afternoon full of new experiences, connections, movement, personal reflections, emotions and breaking barriers.
Another way to explore our senses is to forget the mind and listen to the body.
Como brilhar nas indústrias criativas
Workshop
In March 2019, we had a workshop on "How to shine in the Creative Industries".
Our international volunteer Marta organized a workshop on various topics related to freelance work in the "creative" world.
We had participants from different areas, musicians, designers, illustrators and programmers, making the debate and exchange of experiences even more enriching!
Collection of goods
Goods to Mozambique
The amount of goods collected between food and clothing was 108,225 items and that was just in the first container.
The goods were distributed by the Helpo team, which is on the ground in coordination with INGC and partner entities on the ground.
Three more containers were sent, one on 23th of April, other on 30th of April, and another in May.
