CES APPLICATIONS

HOW CAN I APPLY TO CES VACANCIES?

Leaving the country and volunteering in another country cannot be an improvised process! First ask yourself:

- What is your personal motivation and on which area would you like to work on?

Be realistic and true to yourself, that is the best way to have a sucessful experience!

Step 1: Register on the European Solidarity Corps Portal

If you're already thinking about volunteering with the ESC, you should sign up on the official website.

Find out how everything works and clear up all your doubts!

Step 2: Choosing a sending organization

Meeting new and different people should be part of your motivation - that's why we should start by finding people who can help you make your international volunteering project a reality!
Rota Jovem is an accredited organization for sending volunteers and already has more than 19 years of experience in the field of sending volunteers. The role of the sending organization is very important, as it will accompany you at every stage: application, preparation for sending, accompaniment during the activity, final evaluation and reintegration on your return.

Step 3: Choosing a project

This point is fundamental. You should think about your motivations for doing international volunteering, what kind of learning you would like to do, what skills you would like to develop and what you can contribute as a volunteer.

You can search for existing projects in the following places:
- on the European Solidarity Corps portal;
- the official database of the European Commission;
- on the Eurodesk website;
- our database;
- various Facebook groups advertising vacancies

Step 4: Application

The application process can take place in two non-exclusive ways:

a) Applications via the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) portal
If you find a vacancy on the ESC portal, you can automatically apply for it using the details in your online profile. To do this, it is important that you fill in these details in the best possible way, i.e. all the details must be filled in with time and attention so that nothing escapes the application. You can also attach your CV and Motivation Letter to your application!

b) Direct applications by email
Prepare your CV and a motivation letter in English and send it by email to the organization where the project will take place, informing them which project you are interested in. Sometimes, in addition to the CV and motivation letter, it may be necessary to fill in a questionnaire specific to the organization.
In your email, explain that you're interested in their project, present your CV and motivation letter and inform them that Rota Jovem is your sending organization (as you can't apply without a sending organization).
Send the same email with a CC to esc@rotajovem.com. This way, Rota Joven can recommend you to the organizations you're applying to.
*In some specific situations, these applications are made directly to Rota Joven and we forward this email.

Step 5: Selection

The recruitment process will be carried out by analyzing CVs, the candidate's motivation, expectations in relation to the work, demanding attendance and punctuality.
Different organizations have different processes for selecting a volunteer for their projects. Some organizations prefer volunteers with more experience, while others prefer volunteers with less.
Keep an eye on your email as you may receive an invitation to be interviewed by phone or skype at any time!

Step 6: Approval!

If you've been selected as a volunteer... CONGRATULATIONS!
Now it's time for us to start the preparation meetings with you and take care of all the necessary paperwork so that you can set off on your adventure in the safest and most informed way possible!
