AtivaMente Jovem💡is a project that aims to empower young students in the municipality of Cascais to identify problems in their communities and develop innovative and sustainable solutions through a multidisciplinary program. This initiative stems from the need to foster active citizenship, social entrepreneurship, and youth participation as a response to local social and environmental challenges, which often do not receive the necessary attention from policymakers. The project also addresses the need to develop key skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and communication, and to create spaces for dialogue among young people, organizations, and policymakers.
The goals of AtivaMente Jovem are:
🧩To empower young people to identify problems and propose innovative solutions through workshops;
🗣️To promote youth participation by creating a space where young people can present their ideas to local policymakers and actively engage in building a more sustainable and inclusive future;
💪Strengthen skills in citizenship, social entrepreneurship, and leadership, empowering young people to act as agents of change in their communities;
🔄️Ensure a connection between the local and European levels, highlighting how local solutions can contribute to broader goals, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and European youth policies.
